Fees and rebates

  • The current fee is $200 for a 50-55 minute consultation. A Medicare rebate of up to $141.85 per session is available with a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

  • Payment must be made at the time of consultation

  • Assessments and report writing will incur additional costs

Medicare Rebate

You will need to have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) in place to claim a Medicare rebate for psychological services. Eligibility for a MHCP is determined by your GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist. With a current MHCP the Medicare rebate is up to $141.85 per session.

It is a good idea to let your doctor's surgery know that you will be visiting for a Mental Health Care Plan, as this typically involves a longer consultation so that the appropriate referral documentation can be prepared. Medicare will provide a rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar years. Typically, the initial Mental Health Care Plan is for 6 sessions. Eligibility for a further four sessions is determined following a visit to your GP for a review.

You will need to bring your MHCP with you to your initial session, if you wish to claim your rebate.

Health Funds

A receipt of payment will be provided for you to claim through your Health Fund. Please contact your private health insurer to find out if you can claim for psychological services.

Cancellation Policy

You will receive a reminder text or phone call approximately 2 days prior to your appointment so that you can confirm your attendance. If you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice so the appointment time can be offered to others. A cancellation fee of $100 is payable for cancellations on the day before the appointment, and $200 (full fee) for cancellations and no shows on the day of the appointment, except for emergencies preventing attendance such as serious medical illness. Should appointments be missed or cancelled the psychologist reserves the right to cease therapy.
